Residence life
House rules
These rules exist so that every resident can sleep, study and live safely. By signing your lease you agree to them, and they apply to you and to anyone you bring onto the property.
Read this with your lease. Where these house rules and your signed lease agreement differ, your lease agreement applies. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to the cancellation of your lease.
- Access cards, keys and remotes are issued to you personally and may not be lent, copied or given to anyone else.

- You are liable for damage to your room and its contents beyond fair wear and tear.
- Damage in communal areas that cannot be attributed to an individual may be recovered from the residents who share that area.

- Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, violence and gender-based violence will not be tolerated in any form.
- Treat residence staff, cleaners, security and fellow residents with respect.
- Theft from other residents or from the residence is a criminal matter and will be reported.
- Any resident who feels unsafe should contact residence management or use the emergency numbers immediately.
- Rent is payable monthly in advance as set out in your lease agreement.
- Always use your name and student number as the payment reference.
- If you are funded, you remain responsible for anything your funding does not cover.
- Speak to us before your account falls into arrears, not after.
Breaches are dealt with progressively: a verbal warning, then a written warning, then a final written warning. Serious misconduct such as violence, weapons, illegal substances, theft or tampering with fire and security equipment may result in immediate cancellation without prior warnings.
Where a breach causes financial loss or damage, the cost is recovered from the resident responsible.
